Shave Of The Day

Every shave has its own level of uniqueness to it, even if its just a quick shave. Some days, you may pull out a soap/cream, razor or brush that only gets used on special occasions. There may also be days that you get to shave on the road in a different location! Here’s where you’ll get to see what is being put to use for my shaves! If you would like to suggest a shave, feel free to check out my Shave Den and let me know what you want to see in action!

Below is a few new bits of gear I picked up over a recent trip out to Springfield, Missouri. I visited a sweet store called Just For Him that is definitely a man cave paradise of a store. They specialized in tobacco, namely cigars and pipe tobacco, but carried a great selection of gifts for the man in your family. Dress and casual hats, watches, wallets, mancave gifts, but most importantly to me, was their selection of wet shaving gear! Their centerpiece was a shelf full of every Proraso product available, from pre-shaves, to soaps and creams and aftershaves, even the Proraso foam! It was all I could do to keep from armbarring everything onto the counter and telling them to take my money! But I held back and only bought the two Proraso items below, a couple packs of blades, and some Suavecito pomade. I’ve used the Proraso creams (red, green and blue) before, but wanted to try soaps as that has been my thing here lately. I figured why not get the white, since it was on my list and knock out two birds with one stone. There wasn’t a lot of scent from the soap, but it did have a very pleasant, and unexpected cooling effect to it. The white is labeled as a sensitive skin formula and I believe green tea/oat is the combination. I had no irritation from the soap and it performed wonderfully. The green aftershave, however, was the show stealer! I was expecting it, scent-wise, to be on par with something like Osage Rub. More menthol than anything. But this is on par with Skin Bracer, but it has a bit sweeter aroma to it. I believe its a menthol and eucalyptus blend, but I believe I may buy this stuff by the gallon in the future! If you read my favorite aftershave blog recently, then this may be moving into that top 5! Watch out Clubman! I did two passes, got a DFS (I didn’t feel like chasing the BBS on my neck) and called it a day. So if you’re out in Springfield, Missouri and need some shaving gear, check this place out. They also carry Lucky Tiger, Caswell-Massey, eShave, and Suavecito brands among many others. Shave on!
